Dentine Hypersensitivity is an area of reversible sensivity that can be caused by receding gums or exposed root surfaces. It can cause pain to hot and cold, even though the tooth or restoration is sound/intact. By using a sensitive toothpaste and applying special desensitiser, this blocks the tubules (channels in the tooth leading to the nerve) easing the symptoms.
If symptoms worsen or persist, contact your dentist for further investigation.
